1. A Faith That Goes Beyond Human Ability
Jesus speaks boldly in the Gospel:
“If you do not believe that I AM, you will die in your sins” (John 8:24).
These words may seem difficult at first, yet they reveal a profound truth about faith. Faith is not merely a human effort or intellectual agreement—it is a supernatural gift that lifts us beyond our natural abilities.
Indeed, we often rely on what we can see, understand, and control. However, God calls us to something greater. He invites us to believe not just with our minds, but with our entire being. This kind of faith goes beyond logic and enters into trust.
2. The Struggle to Understand Divine Truth
In the Gospel, many struggled to understand Jesus. They questioned Him, doubted Him, and even resisted His message. This struggle was not simply intellectual—it was spiritual.

“You belong to what is below, I belong to what is above” (John 8:23).
This reveals a deep divide. Human thinking is limited, while divine truth is infinite. Therefore, without grace, it is difficult to fully grasp who Jesus is. Faith is required to bridge that gap.
